Scott Bessent found a way to lend Japan U.S. dollars to dump it and buy yen without dumping the $1.4 Trillion treasuries they hold. If Japan sells their U.S. treasuries holdings, it’s a full-blown global liquidity crisis. But look at the irony… The US Treasury is printing dollars to purchase US Treasury bonds held by Japan. Effectively, Japan is selling off its US Treasuries, while the US is handling that sell-off by printing money and taking those bonds…
