I don’t understand why this isn’t the biggest story in the Western world: There’s a service that allows “surveillance” to be turned into storytelling. For a price, every camera connected to the internet can be made to tell whatever story the client wants, without leaving a trace. https://t.co/6sK89c4HaT

Traction for Dystil
Thinking about product market fit for dystil has been difficult. We're up against the comfort and familiarity that is destroying the fabric of a civilization by way of phones, instagram, corrupt media, and the physical pleasure of dominating someone over a text message without any repercussions. I'm guilty of these myself. The only thing that seems like it will work is creating something that people want more that will compete with their familiarity and comfort. I believe that this needs to be recognition. And I believe that recognition needs to shift into a popularity contest for who can be considered a great curator of intellectual taste. And taste that naturally necessitates in person conversations out of excitement. An excitement that comes from the feeling of reawakening. Reawakening of curiosity, learning, collaborating with other humans in lieu of a screen. Recognition of this curation ability is not easy and cannot be faked. But it can become the new status symbol. Dystil's traction will be graded on how well we do at creating the motivation to read more, write more, think more, collaborate more in an offline way. This is why we believe dystil should focus on creating the physical aspect of this via newspaper.
