When History Disappears: The Fragility of Digital Memory
I'm reminded of a scene in Tenet where Barbara the scientist tells the protagonist of her greatest concern. A temporal war where our history is destroyed. I didn't appreciate that destroying history is worse than a nuclear holocaust. Destroying our history is to destroy the collective proof that we pass on wisdom benevolently for the future.
It is thee evidence that we orient towards benevolence through wisdom. A quote from the same scene is a propos for what one single deletion of a digital archive of wisdom would indicate; "the detritus of a coming war".
This is why DYSTIL exists. The war is already here and we must preserve wisdom.
